Lattice Die Cross

Carstock used: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Lattice die run through the Big Shot and parts cut away.
Stamp Set: Thanks for Caring (in the Occasions Mini Catalog which ends April 30). Inside sentiment, also from that set, is stamped on Very Vanilla cut with Top Note die. 1 3/4" circle punched out of Baja Breeze cardstock. Small flower is punched with Boho Blossoms Punch. Small circle punched with Itty Bitty Punches - circle punch. Self adhesive pearl in middle - from regular Idea Book and Catalog.
Scallop Trim Corner and Border Punch Cross
Cross punched with Scallop Trim Corner Punch and Scallop Trim Border Punch - out of copy paper cut at 3 3/4" x 5". (Cardstock is too thick to try to fold and then punch - you wouldn't be able to punch through the folded cardstock.) Then that sheet is run through the Big Shot using the Texturz plate that looks like bark. (In doing that, the folds that were made in the copy paper to get the image can no longer be seen.)
I haven't stamped anything in the inside of this card, but put out a Happy Easter sentiment and God Bless You sentiment today for everyone to use if they wished.
Box Kite Card
I decided this card below is appropriate for this time of year - although I know it's April and no longer March. But ... we're still close enough to kite flying month to do a kite card! I bought a kite to fly the other day (mostly so I could take pictures to eventually put in a My Digital Studio scrap book since kites are what you do in March!)
It was kinda gusty the day I flew them, but got them up for a few minutes!
This butterfly kite is a little tiny kite about the size of my hand. It flew better than the bigger kite.
Big Kite - up and then down we go. It was gusty that day. I would get the kite up a little and then down it would come. I need a more evenly windy day! Earl said the tails were too long on both the kites . . . they were rather long.

I liked the idea of this card cause it can stand up to be displayed.
On Play Day a couple of weeks ago, several of us worked on Easter cards for Wendy Weaver to put with the Easter baskets (about 30) she puts together for the shut-ins at Pittman Park Church. Here are some of the cards we made:
These were made with the Crosses of Hope stamp set and the Lattice Embossing Folder.
The blue card and the yellow card at the bottom were made by Nancy Collins with a brass stencil that she had - run through the Big Shot. She then shaded the cross and flowers with pastels.

Looove the kite pictures!!! Isn't it funny, how we do things so we can take pictures? I did the same thing!! :))
